To Us In 2 Years – Post Election Thoughts

I know you don’t want to hear this right now, but in 2 years, two short years, we will start this cycle all over again.

Doesn’t really seem possible, does it? But that’s the way American politics works. In 2 years, some new people will suddenly be on the scene and there will be talk of them running, and they will deny it at first, and then they will announce their candidacy and they will fight for their parties nomination.

And they will sling mud at each other from inside their parties first. This will confuse you, because they will say slanderous horrible things and then once one loses and one wins they will join sides and turn on a joint enemy, the person running from THE OTHER.

And they will say horrible, slanderous things TOGETHER about the other, and about THE OTHER’S supporters and you will be so afraid. Because the talk will be almost unbelievable. And the media will report things with little to no credibility because it will sell advertising. And we will be hooked because we want to be informed. And we will be terrified because fear is how you win elections.

Make them TERRIFIED of THE OTHER and then you can win.

Oh, and bonus, it will get really personal and we will find things out about the candidates bedrooms and their past and we will criticize every decision they’ve ever made in their personal and professional lives (even the ones they’ve apologized for over and over).

Do you enjoy the way that works?

Yeah, me neither.

I don’t want to spend the next 4 years like I’ve spent the last 8 – hearing from THE OTHER (you know, the ones that didn’t vote like I voted) that our president is the worst president ever. And I don’t want to spend the next 4 years thinking like they did. Or posting like they did.

Because we are NOT strong when we turn on each other. A very wise president once said “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

And I want us to stand, Friends. I want it very badly. So we must move forward. Because we really are STRONGER TOGETHER. And we really can MAKE AMERICA GREAT. But we have to look deep within ourselves to figure out how we are going to do that.

And please, let’s stop destroying each other. It’s getting us NOWHERE. And fast.
